The working principle of oxygen masks

The oxygen mask is connected to an automatic connector via a thin rubber oxygen supply tube and a bayonet fitting. Oxygen flows continuously into the mask's reservoir. The reservoir initially stores gas, and as it inflates, it holds a certain amount of oxygen. When a passenger takes a deep breath and empties the reservoir, an air inlet valve on the mask allows oxygen to enter.

 

In the event of cabin depressurization, the oxygen masks will automatically drop from the cabin ceiling. Above the passenger seat, there is a sign indicating "Emergency Manual Release of Oxygen Masks" and a "Push" indicator. Pushing the button will automatically lower the oxygen mask in front of the passenger.
