What is the principle behind the airtightness of a urine bag?

The airtightness of the urine bag is essentially a physical leak-proof mechanism achieved through the synergistic effect of three factors: the density of the material's molecular structure, the heat-sealing process at the interface, and the gravity drainage design. The medical-grade PVC material, with its optimized plasticizer ratio, maintains its softness and flexibility while significantly reducing microporous permeability, effectively preventing liquid backflow and air ingress. International standards require it to drain continuously for 4 hours under a 60cm vertical drop without leakage, and to not release harmful migration substances upon contact with urine. This stability isn't achieved through adhesives or clips, but rather through a passive protective barrier formed by the material itself and the structural design.

 

 

When my elderly relative was bedridden after surgery, turning over at night was difficult. Traditional bedpans required getting up, moving, and wiping, easily wetting the bedding, and repeated washing and drying were exhausting. We switched to a urine bag with a spiral connector and a flexible tube. One end connects securely to the urinal, while the other hangs down for fixation. It drains silently all night, and in the morning, it only needs to be easily removed and changed. The urine bag surface stays dry without frost, and there's no visible residual fluid on the tube wall.  The tubing has a large bending radius, so it doesn't bend even when lying on its side; the urine bag's capacity markings are clear, with increments from 100ml to 2000ml; and the bottom drain valve is smooth to press, allowing for easy one-handed flow control.
