Introduction To Oxygen Masks

An oxygen mask is a device that delivers oxygen from a storage tank to the lungs. Oxygen masks can cover the nose and mouth (nasal mask) or the entire face (full face mask). They are mainly classified by use, such as medical oxygen masks and civilian aviation oxygen masks. They play a vital role in ensuring human health, assisting in disease treatment, and protecting the safety of flight attendants.

An oxygen mask mainly consists of the mask body, elastic bands, connecting tubing, and oxygen delivery tubing. The surface of the mask that contacts the face often has a cushioning pad to reduce pressure and improve wearing comfort. Oxygen masks are primarily made of plastic, silicone, or rubber.
